The Sir John Colfox School is an 11-18 school serving the town and community of Bridport. We are very proud of being a truly comprehensive community school and strive to meet the needs of all students in our school. Standards of achievement in the school are good and improving. The curriculum is based upon meeting the differing needs of students through offering student choice and a variety of different routes to appropriate qualifications. Students are treated as individuals and challenged to do their best and to positively contribute to the school community. As a specialist language college we are able to offer unusually generous opportunities for learning languages, for travel abroad and for lending an international dimension to our curriculum. The facilities at the school are excellent. The school was rebuilt in 1999 and has been updated since as the curriculum needs of students develop with the addition of extra ICT suites and vocational areas such as a hairdressing salon and construction and building workplace. There is also a pre-school on site. Good results, a caring staff, an effective pastoral system, an emphasis on individual progress and high expectations, all lead to a school which serves its community well and ensures that for students school days are the best days of their lives.
