Colfox Variety Show 2008

Congratulations to all acts who took part in the variety show.  It was a really brilliant day and the standard of all entries just keeps getting better and better.  All of the audiences throughout the day had a great time, well done!

For the first time ever the winning act came from Upper School.  Oliver Smith won the variety show for Adler House with his amazing,  ' I’m going slightly mad' inspired by his recent appearance in “We Will Rock You”.  All those who saw this were entertained; it even won Ollie a marriage proposal!!

Earlier in the day Billy Wiedenbruch won the Year 7 competition for Fleur de Lys House with his rock guitar.  Judging this event Mr Middleton said that Billy ‘totally rocked the place out’.  Brilliant stuff!!
The year 8 competition was won by Emily Meech of Toro house with her fantastic tap dancing. The skill and athleticism was a real treat to watch.
The year 11 competition was won by Vicky Conacher - Crow (and friends) from Toro.     This years’ competition was compared by Jodie Glover and Becky Whaley who did a sterling job keeping the whole event together and on time. The girls later took part in the Year 11 event  with their superb singing making way for Mr Herbert to take the reins with the microphone for the last hour.
Many thanks to all of the judges and to Nigel Robertshaw and Miss Clayton Spencer for helping make sure that the sounds systems and technical support worked so well.  A special mention must go to Miss Blair (or should I say Gloria Gaynor) for helping to entertain the crowd while the judges were deliberating.  ‘I Will Survive’ was delivered with passion and no little talent either.  A ‘Stars in their Eyes’ appearance is surely the next stop!!
Final Results:
