Sports in Portuguese with Mr Carlos Figueira was great fun as was beginners Welsh with Mrs Lowri David. Students then enjoyed a working languages lunch with talks on career prospects open to languages students.
Bath University speaker Enrico Ceccione gave the final address, which included an exploration of what it's like to study languages at university including the travel and opportunities it brings.
Students from other local schools were invited and came to enjoy the day, which was attended by Colfox’s Year 10 GCSE Language Students and those in Year 9 who have opted to study a language at GCSE next year.
Dr Neil Allies, Head of Languages and Cultures at the Sir John Colfox Academy, said: “It was a very exciting day celebrating learning languages and Students enjoyed it.
“I’d like to thank all the visiting speakers and performers for helping to make it such a success. It was also great to be able to welcome other Students to Colfox to enjoy celebrating languages and exploring the opportunities that learning a language brings.”
