Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

We are saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and our condolences go out to the Royal Family.

Our flag will remain at half-mast during the period of national mourning, as we reflect and pay tribute to her life of service, dedication and duty. The Queen’s devotion to public service during her 70-year reign will remain a source of inspiration for many, not just in the United Kingdom but around the world.

Students can find out more about the life of our Queen from BBC’s Newsround: Queen Elizabeth II has died, aged 96 – CBBC Newsround

Many may feel more grief than they expected, and we will be supporting students in school, those who have suffered bereavement may find the period of mourning particularly hard. There is some useful advice to help young people here, from mental health charity Young Minds. How To Deal With Grief and Loss | Mental Health Advice | YoungMinds

Some house events will of course need to be postponed until after the period of national mourning. We will update Parents and Carers as soon as we can about any other arrangements, if we need to.
