Teaching Vacancies

Teacher of Textiles

Required from January 2020 an enthusiastic, well-qualified and successful classroom practitioner to join our successful and vibrant Design & Technology Faculty.

The Design and Technology Faculty encompasses Resistant Materials, Food and Nutrition and Textiles Technology. The department consists of a well experienced team of 1 full-time teacher, 4 part-time teachers and 2 technicians.

The Faculty is housed across two floors with well-resourced and purpose build classrooms for the teaching of specialist subjects. The faculty is well resourced with a variety of CAD/CAM facilities and the opportunity for cross media practical work.

This is a great time to join our school as we consolidate links with the three feeder primary schools which form part of our Multi-Academy Trust (The Minerva Learning Trust). We work closely with colleagues across the MLT, sharing ideas about assessment, literacy, numeracy and other areas of pedagogy. We are members of the Jurassic Coast Teaching Alliance, which enables us to participate in a diverse range of initiatives, including the Women in Leadership programme and CPD seminars from notable speakers such as Deborah Myhill and Daisy Christodoulou. We are an outwardly facing school in a beautiful part of the country and have strong links with our local community as a Rights Respecting School. We are committed to managing staff workload and have a Staff Wellbeing and Stress Reduction Working Group.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. We accept applications from all potential candidates including NQT, main scale and UPS colleagues.
