TEACHER OF DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY – ONE TERM

Required from September 2021 for one-term, a well-qualified and successful classroom practitioner to join our successful and vibrant Design and Technology Faculty. The take up of the subject at GCSE and A Level is very strong indeed. It would be expected that the successful candidate would be able to teach up to GCSE Level and the ability to teach A Level is preferred.

The Design and Technology Faculty encompasses Resistant Materials, Engineering, Food and Nutrition and Textiles Technology. The department consists of a well experienced team of 1 full-time teacher, 4 part-time teachers and 2 technicians.

The Faculty is housed across two floors with well-resourced and purpose-built classrooms for the teaching of specialist subjects. The faculty is well resourced with a variety of CAD/CAM facilities and the opportunity for cross media practical work.

This is a great time to join our school as we consolidate links with the three feeder primary schools which form part of our Multi-Academy Trust (The Minerva Learning Trust). We work closely with colleagues across the MLT, sharing ideas about assessment, literacy, numeracy and other areas of pedagogy. Support Staff Vacancies

SEND HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT (HLTA)

30 hours per week (term time only plus 2 non student days).

Permanent Post Grade (SCP 19-25) £13.21-£15.33 per hour

We are looking for an HLTA to join our successful and vibrant SEND department. The department is committed to supporting a wide range of needs to enable students to achieve and be successful at school. We are now looking to recruit an HLTA to support numeracy and mathematics learning for students with SEN from years 7 – 11 (GCSE).

The main responsibilities for the job will include:

- Planning, preparing and delivering numeracy and maths learning to small groups of students.

- Selection and preparation of teaching resources that meet the range of the pupils’ needs and interests.

- Liaising with class teachers as appropriate.

- Liaising with parents and other agencies as appropriate.

other duties will include:

- Providing specialised and individualised support to students with SEND within mainstream lessons and within the SEN department.

- Contributing towards meeting the SEN statutory requirements for our students

Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in working with young people with SEN and a desire to see young people achieve their potential. Due to the nature of this post, an HLTA status or equivalent is essential Experience/training in supporting mathematical development will be beneficial.

SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT

SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT

30 hours per week (term time only plus 2 non student days)

Permanent Post Grade 5 (SCP4-6) £9.81-£10.21 per hour

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our successful and vibrant SEND department. The department is committed to supporting a wide range of needs to enable students to achieve and be successful at school.

The successful TA will work with more complex students within the SEND hub and support a wider range of needs in mainstream lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4. They will have good interpersonal skills and the confidence and ability to relate well with students. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to work independently and to remain calm under pressure.

The main responsibilities for the job will include:

- Delivering prescribed interventions to students under the direction of the SENCO or Assistant SENCO.

- Supporting students’ learning within the classroom.

- Liaising with class teachers as appropriate.

- Contributing towards meeting the SEN statutory requirement for our students.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in working with young people with SEN and a desire to see young people achieve their potential. Achievement of NVQ level 3 or equivalent for Teaching Assistants will be beneficial, as will specific training on special educational needs, for example, how to support students with dyslexia, autism etc.
