Collecting for Cats this Christmas

The Colfox Animal Welfare club are collecting donations of cat food and cat toys in the run up to Christmas. The Deadline for donations is 14th December and we will be donating it to Taylor’s Animal Rehoming Centre at  Kingston Maurward College on the 15th December.  If you would like to donate please send in with students or bring to the main reception.

Creative Writing Workshop

On Wednesday 9th November a group of A Level Creative Writing students took part in a writers workshop with celebrated crime writers Robert Twigger and Jason Webster. The focus of the trip was on providing students with an insight into the creative process by published authors, with particular focus on character creation, suspense, and narrative style. click here to read more

 

 

MLT Mural Art Project

Local schools from The Minerva Learning Trust have now completed work on a 7.5m long mural which will be installed on the hoarding outside the LSI.  Over 100 students from across the Sir John Colfox Academy, Bridport Primary, St Mary’s CE and Burton Bradstock CE Primary Schools worked on the project with Miss*C’s Graffiti Academy. Reporting and Assessment in Years 7 and 8

National Curriculum Levels, introduced in 1988 and previously used to assess students from primary school through to year 9, have been abolished. There were many reasons why it was felt that these were no longer fit for purpose and so schools across England and Wales have been creating new ways of assessing students.  Click here to read more
